Default Waves88 requires PT11.3.2?

Was over in Gearslutz land and ran into this thread: https://www.gearslutz.com/board/avid...l#post12097111 where it started out about someone looking for the PT11.3.2 download and someone posted they had a problem running the Waves88 piano in PT11.3.1. They asked Waves support about that and got the answer back that Waves is only supported in PT11.3.2 and higher (meaning PT12+). Now the poster didn't say if this was just for the piano vi or across the board for Waves plugins. I don't have the piano vi but several other Waves plugins and they're working just fine.

edit for additional:
It's true - Waves plugins are only supported for PT11.3.2 and above and not just the new stuff but older things like Abbey Road Plates, etc. I wonder if there's a new Waveshell that's the reason for this or what? Wouldn't be the first time Waves has stuck it to PT users.

Agreed. I wonder if this recent development is the old 'unsupported but that doesn't mean it won't work' like Avid has done in the past? I'm wondering if there's some kind of update download that will screw us?

Just curious why this is an issue, when anyone with a PT11 license can install 11.3.2 (unlike 12 where you need to be on the update plan)? Is there something about 11.3.1 that you need? Or is is it just the idea that you don't want to update if you don't have to?

I know people using Waves V9 with PT8 still. It should work fine.

Huge fly in the ointment - anyone with just a PT11 license may be able to install PT11.3.2 only IF they went to PT12 and thereby have legitimate access to the update available to them. Not everyone does (us mere mortals who didn't go to PT12). That's why it's an issue.

Besides why update if a system is working? 11.3.1 has been solid as a rock for me.

The new piano as well as Abbey Roads Plate work just fine in Pro Tools 10 HD on 10.8 OS here.

Are you using RTAS or the aax version of AR Plates?
