Default Opening older session versions in 8

I am upgrading from 7.1 to 8. Is there any issue opening these sessions in 8?
Thanks!
Tom

No there shouldn't be as long as all plugs are updated. There are/were some
issues with VSL and Kontact VI's playing back 6db quieter though. Atmosphere
and Trilogy Intel wrappers not compat with PT8 as of a couple of weeks ago, Spectrasonics are aware of this apparently.DUY had issues too. Keep checking websites.

I don't think 10.5.6 is tested/approved by Digi yet...
Also did you go through all the steps on PT8 Read This First, Combo Update, Plug-in Compatibility?...
Thrashing Preferences and Repair disk permissions etc?...

I have no problems opening 7.4/Tiger sessions in 8/Leopard, or the other way round

I've opened PT 5 and 6 sessions in 8 with no problems so far.

On Complete formatting of disk and a fresh instal of both OS 10.5.4 and the update 10.5.5 and the downloaded PT 8, (I note that the first try of installing was "over" the previous OS and PT 7.2 ).

It now opens and runs like a dream, thanks everyone for responding i really did think i was stuck, and just to say, i so do like the layout and readability of the whole program, it's so nice.

btw, i'll check out the 'guide' on installing and checking disks, thanks again, hopefully all will be good sailing now.

Generally good but I've had a few odd things happen bringing 7.4 sessions into PT8. No showstoppers just a couple minor annoyances...

PT8 consistently changes my i/o settings reversing the mapping for my analog/digital paths of the 1st 192. Oddly enough it seems to leave the other 192 alone...it does this EVERY time I open a session from 7.4

I've also had some truly bizarre things like the main outs out of phase for no reason. Setting it to no output and then remapping takes care of it.
