Data error (cyclic redundancy check)
I am trying to install Pro Tools Essential, and this error pops up after the software tries for 10 minutes to install the essential loops:
Data erroe (cyclic redundancy check) essential loops C:\Program Files\Digidesign\Pro Tools\Pro Tools Essential Loops. I have changed my HDs to "dynamic" format, type. If I hit the "OK" button, it completely skips all the essntial loops and starts downloading the demo songs. Win 7 Home Premium Core duo. Thank you for any help!

Cyclic redundancy check almost always means bad sectors on the drive. Sounds like it's time to replace it.

I would think that too, BUT, I get the SAME message on THREE different computers when I try to load the software. So, it's either the disk or the OS- Win 7 SP1.
This is version 8.0.2 of Pro Tools MP Essential. IF the problem is the disk, can I get a replacement disk or download? Thanks!
