Default MX Master logitech Mouse

Hi

I recently purchased a Logitech Mx Master mouse, I was hoping the horizontal scroll button would scroll in protools but it doesn't in practice. I have checked settings in Logitech options software. All is good. and I can scroll in other software horizontally. My Question is can I get it to work, does Protools even support horizontal scroll.

Yes I know I can you the shift modifier and vertical scroll however thats not what I am trying to achieve here. If we can avoid that whole conversation that would be lovely.

Kind Regards

Pep

If you're on PC, get X-Mouse Button Control and set that up to do what you want - along with any other number of shortcuts you can program into the mouse just for Pro Tools.

I used this monstrosity for a good while

and horizontal scrolling worked out of the box in PT. I'm on a Mac though, so that might make a difference.

Hmmmm didnt work or perhaps I am not mapping properly however everything works in windows fine. So when opening an applet/window that has a horizontal scroll bar at the bottom it works hmmmm but not PT HD 12.6

I found this fix by Rom 37

Rastafarai ! I did it !

So, for those interested about scrolling horizontally with the Apple Mighty Mouse on PT9 PC version :
Download the great freeware X-Mouse Button Control here :
http://www.highrez.co.uk/downloads/X...tonControl.htm

Then, you can access the settings of all your mouse.
Create a profile by clicking "Add".
Then go search the "protools.exe" launcher.
In the settings "Tilte Wheel Left" and "Tilt Wheel Right", go to : Simulated Keys (undefined).
We're gonna define it !

Enter in the blank this for the left wheel : {CTRL}{SHIFT}{MWUP}
and this for the right wheel : {CTRL}{SHIFT}{MWDN}

By scrolling horizontally, it will emulate the CTRL + SHIFT + WHEEL.

Then apply, and go enjoy your horizontal scroll in PT ! :)

ps:

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think PT9 PC don't understand the horizontall scroll of mouses... I've tested it with a Logitech mouse (one like grendizer mentionned before) and it doesn't work.

You have to be sure you're using the protools.exe when programming and you have to tell the command what is happening when you actually use the mouse. FE: During, When Pushed, When Released, etc.
