Default Crossgrade Pro Tools M-Powered 8 to Pro Tools 10

I'm re posting this to the right forum:

I have Pro Tools M-Powered 8 & I want to upgrade/crossgrade to Pro Tools 10. I want PT 10 so i can still use my old RTAS plugins. Are they still selling PT 10? I can't find it anymore

If ever, do i have to re-install my RTAS plugins after the upgrade? What will be my best option & how much it will cost?

I have iMac 27" i7 8RAM & Profire 2626.
Thank you & I appreciate the help.

I used lots of Waves & other plugins (RTAS) that's why i'm thinking of cross-grading to PT 10 instead of 11. I'm afraid to let go of my old plugins.

If I upgrade to PT 11, how difficult it will be to get used to it (without my old RTAS plugins)? In case i decided to upgrade to PT-11, can I still run the old MP-8 after upgrading to PT11?

I need advice please.. Thank you..

While protools 10 is not sold anymore, the protools 11 license includes a version 10 license. You get the best of both worlds!
Only caveat being you will need a ilok 2 for the licenses..

Thanks So much for this info. If I buy from other sources like Guitar-Center, is it also true that i will also get both 10 & 11? Or I have to purchase here in Avid site?

You will get both PT10 and PT11 in that bundle

http://www.guitarcenter.com/ProTools...nt-g26785t0.gc

Very useful if you wanna go to PT10 and still have PT11 for future thoughts.

Best Regards

I asked Guitar Center & the said I cannot get both version 10 & 11 from crossgrade. Only if I buy the full PT11 which is $575.98.

Is this true? I thought I can get that benefit from the crossgrade?

Thanks

Well I didn't know that but on the Avid website it states:

What’s included?
Pro Tools 11 and Pro Tools 10 with bundled plug-ins installer activation (requires download)

Here is the link so why not get it from Avid instead and get what you want:

As to Waves e.g. there you can use all Waves plugins with PT11 now and
it works perfectly (except you use multiple displays, there is an issue
reported).
If you just use one monitor it works flawlessly with version 11.
You only would have to update your Waves WUP plan and install the
latest Offline installer of version 9/AAX and you are good to go!

And whatever your other favourite old plugins are, you may check either if there
aren΄t AAX version available in the meantime (like the Waves) or if not, you could just find out if
there are 64bit-VST versions of it and than use it via one of these 2 "host"-plugins in
Pro Tools (work with plugins as well as with VIs).
http://www.bluecataudio.com/Products/Product_PatchWork/ Dollar 79.-

http://www.bluecataudio.com/Products/Product_MB7Mixer/ Dollar 129.-

If you can get AAX/64bit-VST-versions of it theoretically you would not need PT10
anymore...

Wishing you much success with it, all the best,

VRW

You are very Welcome

Just click the link I posted and goto the Specification tab where I took the quote from about including 10/11.

Best Of Luck
