Oxygen 8 + PT 5.1.1

I'm a MIDI novice, so please be easy on me.

I'd love to program the knob controls on my Oxygen 8 MIDI keyboard to control parameters of stuff like track volumes and plug-in values. Using it as a "real" control surface in PT would rock my world.

Is this at all possible, and if so, how do you do it?
