Default Split a CF group between sides?

Hi all,
I have a 32-Fader D-Control, and am wondering if it's possible to have a 16-fader CF group be split so that 8 faders are in the left bank and the other 8 are in the right? I've tried all the various LCF/RCF combos but none seem to allow this.
This way I could reach all 16 faders w/o moving from the center, and then I suppose if there were more than 16 they would be added on the right.....or not...dunno.

Thanks in advance!

Joe

I did (8 LCF, 8RCF), but it doesn't seem to "spill" the tracks over the main unit......quite possibly I'm doing something wrong!

Let's say you have declared 8 faders to bank A and another 8 to Bank B. if you press Custom Faders button on the left side of D-COntrol then Bank A then Custom Faders button on the right side of D-COntrol then Bank B what happens?

Nah Joe - left of main is one area for CF and right of main is a separate area for CF, you cant spill across them in that way.
Best you can do is focus your VCAs on the left and spill them on the right, which is quite tidy...

Here's some settings worth playing around with to see if it can approach what you want to do : How about setting the numbers for LCF Grp to 'min 24' end set the L CF back justification to center left.
It won't exactly do what you have in mind but at least it would keep things center focussed to a minimum ?

It would start building the CF group from center left away ... build up to 16 faders and then continue to the right hand side of the main unit. Up to 8 over on that one. After that it will start a new bank.

Another one that comes to mind : I have my physical layout 32 faders on the left and the the main unit on the right. But in the peripherals setup I have things layed out as if the Main unit were in the middle. So Fader 1 / Main / Fader 2. This basically allows me to use both LCF and RCF even though physically there is no RCF.
I wonder if you could do the opposite : in the periph's set it up as if there was no right hand fader pack. So you would go : fader 1 / fader 2 / main.

I think things may get weird once you start building the CF group as in the channel order may swap etc but I'd still give it a try and see what it does.

The exact thing you want to do isn't possible but maybe there's a way to approach it by the next best thing

Chris

Interesting idea, Chris, I'll give that a try, thank you!

PS: I want to clean one of my D-Control faders, do I use the same product as described in the D-Command fader cleaning document (green D-Oxit?)
