Re: A.O.M invisible limiter
were are you guys using it?
I'm thinking Mix Bus but I'm not seeing a L/R linked mode just L/R separate and M/S separate in the documentation

This allows me to Mix/Master simultaneously - really this allows me to adjust the MIX such that the Master sounds the way I expect. Too many times in my career have I wished I could adjust the mix with the Mastering Engineer in an out of town session and the clock ticking. This is my attempt to solve that issue, and generate the consistency for the project iteratively. I mix first of all to the RAW. Once I have it sounding close, I move onto the MIX. It would be at this point that I would normally hand off to a Mastering Engineer, however in my case, I move onto the Master Processing. It is here that I put AOM. Depending upon how much crushing I want, I typically have to dial up/down (usually down) the Overheads, or high end in the RAW. Since everything is stored as part of the session, I can tweak each track to match the album as I complete each Master. This method of working does require a healthy amount of processing - which is why I'm using 2 UAD Octo's, 2 HDX Cards along with a 12 Core 3GHz MacPro. Anyways - thats the flow I've adopted to use AOM.

Re: A.O.M invisible limiter
and that has nothing to do with my question about the sides not being crossed linked in the detection area of the plug

Re: A.O.M invisible limiter
Tell me more Oliver. The website seems a little vague on this.

Re: A.O.M invisible limiter
I assume he's referring to the offer of a year license for a fraction of the price of lifetime ownership. I find that rather nice, especially considering how low in cost it is to essentially "try" any of their plugins for a year.

Re: A.O.M invisible limiter
The $30/year license on the Invisible is pretty tempting. I've been looking to buy a good limiter. Looking at Fabfilter Pro-L which is $200 at the moment. But new plug-ins keeps popping up everywhere. Plug-ins improve. Investing $200 in Pro-L now does seem like a bad move. The math:
$200 / $30 = 6.67 years of Invisible use. Say you buy the Invisible for $30. After 1 year a killer limiter comes out, with the same possibility as Invisible to lease it on a 1 year basis. You really want it. You've only spent $30 compared to $200. Just sell Pro-L to make up for it? Not likely, as others have spotted the same killer limiter and have no interest in your Pro-L. Does it make sense? lol. |
