Default How to get rid of DAE Error -9073?

Im starting to get really pissed of about constantly having to halt my work and begin to search for clues for an unstable system I have spent a lot of money and effort in.

I thought I had done everything right this time… Finally after getting my 11r clock repaired, (a factory fault which took me 2 weeks before getting it back with a healthy clock). And after ordering a disc from the US to Sweden since PT is really picky about chipsets etc etc…

So why is this not working?

Here is my issue and spec:

Dae error 35 and -9073 with PT aggregate I/O set as my plyback engine
Dae -9073 with Eleven Rack set as my plyback engine
This happens mostly during playback.

Setup
Macbook Pro i7 2.0 quad
4 gig ram
5400 rpm system drive. Pt and all VI's installed here

Audio drive
Owc Mercury on the go 750gig 7500rpm using firewire 800 port – no external power adapter.
Record partition size: 80 gig
Brand new and formatted as OSX Extended (journaled)
Record allocation Is set to 20 minutes in PT prefs

All the latest drivers and updates.
OS X 10.6.7
PT 9.0.3
11R Expansion Pack
All Pro tools optimizations is done.
No elastic audio
DAE Engine 4 out of 8 cores is used for PT with 99% cpu load.
Everything else set as default in the prefs.

Current session:
44.1 khz 24 bit
Playback at 1024 or 512 samples… same thing!
About 15 channels, mostly VI’s
- 4 Xpand2,
- 1 Toontrack Superior Drummer, with about 1gig loaded
- 1 Toontrack Percussionist, just a couple of megabytes loaded
- 2 aux, Reverb and Delay sends
- 7 audio tracks recorded with Eleven Rack
- I have a couple of plugins loaded, mostly compressors and eq’s. About 6

CPU load: 11-15%

I am expecting more from this system and hope there is a fix.
Any advise is highly appreciated!!

/ H

You can't run VI's that use disk streaming of sample libraries off of a 5400rpm laptop drive, there's not near enough throughput.

Do you still get the errors in sessions without any VI's in them?

Also, why is your OWC drive partioned? Are you trying to access anything off the other partitions on that drive while also playing/ recording to that drive?

Well, that seem to be working just fine. But thats not wierd in any way since there is no streaming going when everything is loaded into the RAM.
Them smaller partition is for recording to avoid fragmentation, the rest of the disc for backing up sessions. That was something i read about and tried as a sollution.

In fact, after all guitar tracks was done and I was about to start mixing PT just crashed or gave me errors. Thats when i decided to move the session the internal drive and actually finished a pretty heavy session from there.. Not one bounce, all VI's running. These new i7 quads are really somethin!!

You where right denka!! I ran to a store and bought a power supply today and everything is working just fine now. Nock on wood!

I got to admit.. I feal like a dork! :)

Anyway, thanks for posting!
