distortion when opening a session in LE that was mixed on TDM

Today I opened a session that was mixed on an HD system to make a change.

While playing I noticed some crunchy sounding dialog. when I checked the mix I made a few months ago everything sounded clean. It turns out that the distortion was coming from maxim. Everything was clean in the HD system.

Has anyone ever see anything like this? It seems really weird that a session would playback different on an LE system. So I guess native plugins don't behave the same as TDM plug given the same input?

I've had sessions that started in LE that then had distortion on HD. Twice when this happened, it was Waves' plug-ins. A better-informed person than myself might say "floating point vs. fixed". I don't know. But the ye olde Q10 clipped on the HD system and not on the LE system.

Going the other way (TDM to LE), I've noticed subtle and not so subtle differences in the way plug-ins sound when they pull up identical settings in LE after starting on TDM.

I think it's a problem with maxim. I've noticed some distortion with that plug-in as well, I even downloaded the most current version of it and am getting the same thing.

Not sure what the fix is. I switched over to massey's L2007 limiter and haven't had any problems.
