Default Price Drop

Has anyone else noticed a price drop in Digi hardware over the last couple of weeks?

I got an email from Allans Music saying that it was all droping by 25% and looking at the Turramurra and Sound Devices websites they both seem to have done the same as well.

This isnt for HD, just LE stuff (003 and M Box units).

Of course its not totally unexpected with winter NAMM on soon in the US and the need to get rid of old hardware. Its just another sign that something new is on the way. Which is a little comforting, at least for me...

Bring on the 004!

You know, I didnt think of that... But its a really good point. With the aussie dollar doing pretty well it might be the case. The Christmas season might also have a little to do with it... I just hope these arent the reasons for the price drop! Id much rather something new to be coming out...

Can anyone confirm if there have been price drops anywhere else is the world besides Australia?

I wonder who buy's the old hardware. Anyway, I'm shure the ones that do will come here on the DUC to rant about not waiting another week or two

Another FW400 interface with pre-amps nobody wants to use, shoddy analog stages, a jittery master clock, and not enough ADAT ports? No thanks!

A modular control surface with as many ADAT ports/faders as you want to expand to and a clock worth its salt bundled with the new Pro Tools Native software that lifts the 18 I/O limit with built-in software/hardware delay compensation? Yes!

Cool, but just don't discontinue 002 / 002R support.

I'd go postal.

Have to love ebays role in keeping aust stores honest in passing on currency savings.

Check out black lion audio if you want to upgrade the converters, noise and other things in LE systems. http://www.blacklionaudio.com/
