Default Re: PT 2019.5 plug-in efficiency

As you mentioned, there should be no difference for a single plugin on a single track, except that CPU shouldn't spike. But if the algorithm for using multiple cores has been optimized there should be differences in performance with multiple plugins on multiple tracks. How big the difference is depends on bad the old algorithm was and how good the new one is.

What can change; however, is "spiking" behaviour of some plugins -- and because less spiking means possibly more plugins therefore it seems to be more efficient.

I'd just say PT feels snappier as ever before since DigiDesign PT 8.1.1 HD (in other words best Avid so far)

Let me throw this in the discussion: VEPro 6/7. With the efficiency happening in the new PT would there still be a need for VEPro on a single computer setup? A number of people use VEPro to help spread the load out on the multiple cores in a computer. I know that's not the only use for the program but still......
