Default Mac Book Air, OS X 10.9.1 and Pro Tools 11

Couple of questions before I dive into PT 11 and a new laptop:

1. If I went and bought a new Mac Book Air is it "approved" to run PT 11? Will it work regardless?

2. I can use the built in soundcard to play PT audio and have output through the headphone jack, correct?

3. I notice that OSX 10.9.1 isn't supported yet for PT 11. Seeing that 10.9.1 was just released last month, I'm guessing it may not be installed on the laptop. If it is, will I need to rollback the operating system to 10.9?

Hopefully you did your homework before the purchase and upgraded the processor to i7 model and upgraded the memory to 8GB -- because neither of those can be upgraded later.

With PT9 and later, yes, you can use your built-in audio.

OSX10.9.1 and PT11.1.1 work just fine, just that there are some known issues which is why Avid cannot officially support it just yet.

I second what JFreak said... i7 + 8gb are definitely recommended. I'm running a year-old 11" air (2.0ghz i7 w 8gb ram) and it's great. The current models have lower cpu speeds but the cpus are more efficient, so it should be about equal in power.

I use the headphone output regularly while editing (though for critical listening / mixing i use my apogee duet).
