Problem with a fader on digi002

Hi everyone! Please don't kill me if I'm posting in the wrong forum, but I figured since the control surface on the digi002 isn't really a command|8, I'd post my question here.

I recently purchased a used Digi002 (not the rack version, for those who didn't yet get it ), and I'm having some troubles with one of the faders (the channel 2 fader, to be precise). I haven't yet had time to install PT and drivers (for my PC running Win XP Home), so I have so far only tried out the stand alone mode.

The fader varies between being almost completely out of control and just a little bit jumpy. It twitches and jumps, sometimes slowly but mostly frenetically. It does this when:

1. Entering the standalone mode.
2. Switching between mix mode and mainfaders-mode.

As soon as you touch is (and hold it lightly) it stops, but this is of no use since you'll have to catch it in the right moment to keep the desired level setting.

Does anyone know of this problem? I talked to the seller, and he does not seem to be familiar with this issue. The sooner I can work this out, the better, so I really appreciate all answers I can get.
