Default new Hardware in 2006???

Hey all!
I wonder if there will be new Digi Hardware in 2006? new interfaces and stuff?
if you look at the history, about every 3 years there was new hardware:
http://www.digidesign.com/20aniv/#
1994 came PT3, 1997 PT24.
1999 came Digi001, 2002 Digi 002 and HD.
2003 came HD Accel, so what will happen in 2006?

I am just curious, nothing special.

Have a nice day!

I just hope I'll be able to add more physical inputs than the current limit. I'd like to banish my digital submixers for fx returns and the like, and just have everything in one 'engine' under one hood. No patchbay. Utopia.

some type of "groovy add more inputs mod" (©2005studiojimi) would be a better move in my opinion

this has to be doable and at an affordable cost to the already sponged PT users who bought the mboxes and 002s and kept on upgrading to the higher end gear as well as the semi pros and the double wide pros

of which there are many more of than the corporoate "PRO"s

with logic and nuendo out to get digi...NOT to share-but to cripple, mame then destroy .

the hills are alive with the sound of home studios

there has to be a better way to hold the userbase hostage.

i don't think digi will put their client user/betat-testster base to a major financial crunch after bleeding them this hard over the past 6 years...there are new eggs to fry now. certainly with signg of compassion like the EQIII perk is just a beginning to spreading the love. I mean digi get friday afts off ......certainly they want to share the prosperity at this point . . .right?

i hope this does not seem ungrateful in gesture and i love PT and will continue to consider holding on fast with the "kleenex" of digital recording

I'll have what you're drinking....seriously though, anything that makes workflow better is good and my PT7 personal issue is input limitations. I'm real interested in flowing audio into PT via ethernet too as an alternative to hardware, but with Waves adopting that idea for their own DSP I have a feeling the ethernet option might get a little crowded with protocols = minefield

yeah... but I was thinking of HD / TDM Hardware. any rumours of a successor for the 192I/O and the DSP Cards?

HD debuted in 2002.

A curious error message led to speculation of an Ethernet based SYNC I/O. The SYNC I/O is in need of an update, if not outright replacement. It cannot lock to tri-level sync, it does not pass the audio on its AES input to its AES output. It does not have a dedicated LED for 23.98/23.976 (flashing 24 works, but doesn't really cut it). It does not have streamers. You cannot generate SMPTE and control a RS-422 machine simultaneously (don't know for sure that this is a SYNC I/O limitation, it may be a PT software limitation). It's RS-422 ports do not work very well (rumor has it this has improved in v6.9...anyone?).

I've been wanting an HD version of the 888|24 since HD was introduced. We don't need HD sample rates in post, and the I/O equivalent of an 888|24 is the 192, which of course, costs more. I just don't understand why a company would force something upon its users that don't need it (post and HD).

I'm just going to take a wild guess and say there will be some sort of new LE interface and possibly new options for HD systems but the HD Core and HD Accel cards themselves won't be changing yet. It would be great if they make an 8 fader expansion for the Command 8 and maybe even a dedicated expansion for controlling plugins. Lets check back in a year and see who was right.
