Default Informal survey: PT 10.3.x on Mountain Lion

Hi, all:

See my sig for my details.

I've been pretty fortunate to have few issues with PT once I upgraded from 7 to 8. With the single exception of a bizarre issue on my MBP going from 10.3.2 to 10.3.3, it's been smooth sailing.

I've been happy to stay in Snow Leopard for some time. Other than an incompatibility between Finale 2011 and the AU version of Waves plugins, I have had very few issues.

Both of my system HDs are SSD; a normal one in my MBP and a PCIe card in my Mac Pro. My hardware is all good and reliable, and I regularly run Drive Genius, MacKeeper, Onyx, Disk Utility, and Carbon Copy Cloner, so my OS is in good shape and I always have multiple bootable backups in the event of cabin decompression.

The only reason I'm considering the move to ML — and I don't really care for what I see in it, as my wife has it on her MB Air — is that the upcoming Komplete 9 seems to be only certified for 10.7 and 10.8. And there's a LOT of great stuff in Komplete, both VI and DSP, as many of you probably know.

So, I'd be very interested to hear of your experiences with PT 10 native in ML, the good, the bad, and the ugly.

I appreciate all input.

Thanks,

Gary

Mountain Lion & PT 10.3.3 works flawlessly for me. Stable as a rock here. I use an Eleven Rack for my interface. Running on a new (2 months old) I5 Mac Mini with 16-gigs & a Samsung 24" HD monitor. I love it.

I've got 10.3.3 HD with ML, did the upgrade from an old 7 rig about 2 weeks ago. It's really good though I am having a few funky issues, one being I lose some outputs when I go from a session at 96 to a session in 44. It's a very strange thing, spent about 3 hours on the phone with Avid and nobody knows what's up but I have a fix which is trashing the prefs. I have it down kind of to a science now how to do it and get back up and running in a few minutes. Also when recording every now and then I get a pretty loud scratchy static noise, almost like the sound when I bank my convertors to another sample rate, kind of weird. But the system is rock solid and fast as hell. Love it. My old G5/PT7 rig had been on the back nine for a while and was running just horribly the last 6 months or so. So going to 10HDX with a 12 core Mac Pro with 40 gigs of ram is like going from roller skates to a Lier Jet. And a gorgeous 32" HDMI 1080 screen, hell yeah! Drum editing in Technicolor. lol
