Default WD My Book Fire Wire Drive OK?

Yes this is what I'm hoping to hear from DIGI. I have a brand new fire wire drive and I'm getting all different permutations of DAE error messages (I've posted elsewhere) vabout data not coming over fast enough. If I close PT and re-open it usually is corrected for awhile.

Is my new WD MyBook Terrabyte Fire Wire external hard drive good for Pro Tool's specs? I noticed that somebody said in a thread that the WD USB drives power down sometimes. Is this true? Is this my problem? Or is it a PT8 SL problem?

What is the best external drive to use for PT8 and Mac?

I've also seen some threads about partitioning and don't know what that means. I do have my iTundes datat on this same drive as PT sessions and I have the seesions stored in folders and subfolders that I've created for organizational purposes. Don't know if any of this could be leading to my problems...

Default Re: WD My Book Fire Wire Drive OK?

Thanks for your reply. What is Esata?

Mine is a firewire 400 External HD. I had a USB that seemed to be causing me problems so I purchased a firewire drive, I did not "partition" it. I don't really understand what that is. Do you think doing that could help reduce my errors?

Mahalo,
Luke
