10.3.10 how is it working for you?

Fist of all, I am on completely unsupported system.

But since going to 10.3.10 I keep getting random freezes, pro tools quits playback, beach ball of death and CPU overload message.

After that, PT keeps running but is taxing CPU @ 200%. I can save if I patiently wait for the ball to stop for a fraction of the second and then all I can do is to quit and complete restart.

Anyone else seeing this? Just interested to know if it's just me or has 10.3.10 acting the same for anyone else and if I would be better off going back to 10.3.9 and the famous input monitor bug.

tells us 2 things, #1, we know nothing about your system
#2, its unsupported
Having said that, 10.3.10 runs fine on my Windows 7 x64 PC with an Mbox 2 PRO.

Hi,

I was getting DAE error messages CPU overload etc. Also had quits when closing sessions using Brainworx digital. and selecting a region and writing automation then trying to move the last point of the automation ala fade would create 2 automation points and not get a fade etc.

Gone back to 10.3.7 which was solid for me and the automation works as i want.

How stupid of me, it's the first setup in my signature - Accel 4 in a Hack, OSX 10.8.5, PTHD 10.3.10. I don't update but PT and Mercury on that system. Has been running very well... until now.

I have tried running without Eucon and as I run audio off of external USB3 drives I have also installed Keep Drive Running to make sure the drives never go to sleep and create issues because of that. No difference, freezes out of the blue - automation too tense and some other errors when actually here is not much automation happening at all.

Ok, so then I should try to roll back. I know 10.3.9 had the input monitoring issue, but what was wrong with 10.3.8 that you preferred to go 10.3.7?

Update_Correction, info below is wrong, still having the same issues using 10.3.8

Uninstalled 10.3.10, installed 10.3.8 and do not see the freeze/random CPU overload issue anymore, so who ever finds this thread, you might want to revert back when having similar issues with 10.3.10.

... if only 10.3.8 didn't go to background after starting up PT, already forgot about that little annoying bug.

Hah that is an annoying bug, I thought it was just me. Thanks for the feedback on 10.3.10. I'm on a hack too and played with the idea of updating, but probably won't now. 10.3.8 is reasonably stable for me.

Actually your sig file does not have what OSX version you are running.

But getting back to the subject PT 10.3.10 is running just fine on a supported system (the one in my sig file) in both OSX 10.8.5 and OSX 10.9.5. And therein lies the issue methinks - unsupported versus supported systems. Run the former and don't be surprised to have issues other people don't have.

Too happy too fast, I was wrong, the issue is still there with 10.3.8 too, so it must be my system... My gut tells me it's the PCIe USB3 card.. So you guys might be just fine using 10.3.10

Of course you are right!

Then again aside from the issue I started having (lately) the Accel4 system I have is a blast to work on. Lots of DSP power, lots of native as well. If there was a Mac with 4 PCI slots I would buy it in a heartbeat.

I would not like to use a chassis for these cards, so I need to work my way around this issue at hand and all will be good... probably USB3 card that seems not to like having 2HDD's connected at the same time, that is the only change I have done to the system that has been bullet proof for a long time now.
