Bad HD Accel card
Bought an Accel HD PCIX card off ebay to boost my system. Spent the day troubleshooting, ended up confirming via DigiTest the card is bad. Not a productive day.
Hope the dude swaps me out for a good card. PTHD10.3.5 / OSX.8.2 |

Re: Bad HD Accel card
While Avid no longer repairs TDM cards, there are still private firms that do it. Search the DUC and your should find info.

Re: Bad HD Accel card
Those cards are so long, they pop a resistor from the back edge of the card when removing or installing them.
The card strikes the MAC PRO fan, upon installation and removal. That is, IF you have a MAC PRO Might you have done it? I have before!!!

Re: Bad HD Accel card
Ive had them repaired before, it cost more than the cards do now. The Accel cards are sooo cheap. In this case a little too cheap. I very much doubt that I did anything to it while installing. I was overly cautious and meticulous during the install. Im sending it back for a refund. Im just frustrated that I lost a day to hardware troubleshooting and failure that I could have been working on music.

Re: Bad HD Accel card
OK, so the guy sent a replacement Accel card. It passes DigiTest. But now my sessions only play the first note (sample?) and that just repeats/glitches. My setup is HD Core, HD Process, and now HD Accell. I tried switching the order of the Accel and Process cards. Same issue either way.
Wherever I place the playhead, it plays that instant and repeats indefinitely. My 98I/O interface has the 48k light orange instead of green. Im guessing there is a clock issue. Could this be a prob with the card, or maybe my config is messed up. Is this a common problem? Thanks for any help/replies.

Re: Bad HD Accel card
I figured out that...if I remove my process card, the replacement accel card that he sent me works fine.
I tried switching the order (core/process/accel) (core/accel/process)... made no difference. Did I mention I'm running a hackintosh these days (successfully for 3 years)? I guess I'll start a new thread about that. For now, I paid less than $150 to upgrade from core/process to core/accel. Wish all three were working but no dice. I should get some improvement from process to accel upgrade. And it was pretty cheap. So all good now. Might even buy another Accel card from ebay.
