Bouncing and Storing?
Hey guys,
I was wondering, when I have finished a mix and want to send it off for mastering, I bounce it down to 24 bit and put it on a CD-R, correct? Then they will apply all eq and volume raising neccessary? Also, if a band asks me to give them all of the files from a session and put it on a cd for them to take and maybe have it mixed somewhere else, how would I do that and what kind of cd's would allow this? Re: Bouncing and Storing?
You might wanna call the chosen mastering house for info on what they prefer to recieve. A 24-bit cd sounds fine, though. As for the session files, you will probably have to burn a DVD for the band due to the large file sizes of the session. A CD-R should work fine if it will fit, though. I always burn a separate DVD of everything concerning the session for my studio as well (incl. session files, paperwork, image files, etc.) in case I need the space on the HD.
