Default error: Bounce to Disk -- \"tFF_AudioPropery.cpp\"

I bought a used dual 1.42 G4 and just tried bouncing a 52-minute recording, and it went all the way through -- but just as it was converting the file to a 44.1k 16-bit AIFF, I get this message:

Could not complete the Bounce to Disk... command because Assertion in "FF_AudioPropery.cpp", line 33.

Any clue what this means, how I received it, how I can get this recording bounced to disk?

The files are on the internal hard disk. I'm really puzzled and quite frustrated. Any suggestions?

FWIW, I had worked on this session on my dual 800 G4, and didn't have a single problem.

I should add that I've tried everything in the "General Troubleshooting - Pro Tools 6 & 7 Mac OS X" thread. Everything.

I'm the first to experience this problem?

Well, after trying everything else, I "saved a copy as" and did a fresh save of the file and associated audio files. I had been using WAVs, but chose to save them as AIFFs. I also didn't save the fades. Seems to work all right now. Very strange.

Every since I started using WAVs, I've been having a lot more errors and corrupt files. Are WAVs more innately more corruptible, or is it something else, I wonder....

Ah, well. It'll remain a mystery, then....

I have had this problem a lot
Digidesign's has this page in their site
http://www.digidesign.com/index.cfm?...1&itemid=20566
telling us to set the DAE buffer to 2, however this is a comprimise and one wonders why they can't fix this as I have been having this problem since 6.7
A simple way around this(another compromise) is to bus to a stereo track in record and then "export files as" to get the filetype you need.
I think you might be on to something with the wav's files as well. I have soundreplacer and it will not work on my system with a waves sample, it just goes nuts and makes a nonsense file.

oops, soundreplacer got a bad rap, I didn't have the latest version installed for PT7. It now works fine with wav samples.
