To Lock or Not....NOT

I'm trying to lock my 001 to an analog multi-track. (sounds fairly simple if you read the
pro-tools manuel). I bought this thing because they (Digi-support) said it would lock. they told me to get a MOTU MTP AV well I did, and it doesn't. Seems like all they keep telling me and I keep reading is it should work...well a "trigger sync" is UNACCECPTABLE! Has any one out there accomplished this? I'd appreciate if anyone of you could educate me on this...seems we're all that's left! The people on the other ends of the support lines DO NOT have a clue! If I would'veknow this I would have purchased a REAL product from one of the competitors...I'm Pissed ...I really need an answer and you guys out there are my only hope. So let's stick it to the man and show them who knows the product....us or ...them?

Thats the long and short of it.
Some dudes say the digi 001 will sync, others point out that it doesnt ever sync tight enough.
Thats why the TDM systems exsist.
