Default PT changes color Windows scheme during launch

While PT is launching it changes the Windows (7 64bit) color scheme.
Everything stays exactly the same in terms of theme and all that.
It's just the colors of the task bar and the minimize/maximize/exit line that changes from black, which is what I prefer, to a very light aqua color.

Is this happening with any one else running Win7?

Something to consider for Digi as they develop the Win7 compatibility.
I have ATI and two Intel Xeon's, on an HP Z800 comp.
Other than this weird thing I have no other problems running 8.0.3 on Win7 64 bit.

Thanks

GD

Need to know more info on your configuration. How much video ram and also what driver are you using for your video card? You might try installing the windows standard driver. That may help. From what your describing, it sounds like windows is in audit mode, but probably not.

I have 8 gigs of ram and the driver I'm using is the latest ATI driver for my card (V3700). I tried the Windows drivers but there was no change.

I found this:

So I'm not alone.
No one has answered this question but this is also what's going on with me.
This may be Altiverb related.
This always happens once PT launches Altiverb during bootup.

Can you give us a sandra report? You can download it here. It may help us all to see your processor, memory etc. Also you can move the Altiverb plugin to the unused plugin folder just to test. Here's the path for moving from your plugins folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Digidesign\DAE\Plug-Ins

This has been going on since last year. I suspect its due to the fact that the actual Devs never noticed since Digi is in love with the Win98 window scheme. This problem would never be visable in classic mode. If you running with Aero on it's obvious.

I actually made a whole list of all the windows that arent following the color scheme and need to post it as a bug report. Thanks for reminding me.

This is normal at the moment and has no effect the way PT runs.

You're right.
I do run Win7 in Aero mode.

Very happy to hear about your list.

I really don't think so.

Have you tried a more powerful video card?
The reason I ask is because I have discovered that this doesn't just happen when I launch PT it also happens when I launch some of the plugins I have for Photoshop.
They, unlike Digi, were at least responsive and seemed to have a snippet of concern and suggested, after some research, that I get a more powerful video card.

Go to your computer properties (r-click My Computer>Properties) and click the blue Windows Experience and see which one is the lowest number.

On my computer that's the Graphics which is only 5.0.
For best performance all these numbers should be somewhere over 7.0

I was just saying it hurts my eyes in sense that it looks damn ugly. Coming from mac the PT on Windows is really not so nice looking at all. But I was able to make it better by dumping the Win7 themes and switching to the classic view. Now it feels like I'm back in 1995 but at least now Pro Tools will follow Windows colors and I was able to make the windows grayish that suits me better.

I really think that this is a bug of some sort that Pro Tools does not follow windows color schemes in Win7 and uses some blue colors of it's own. Someone should look into this I guess.
