Default Mbox in Oracle VM jitters

I want to use my mbox 2 in a virtual machine in Oracle VM, Windows 7 64 bit. I managed to install the drivers without a hassle, set up a usb filter for the mbox, and it shows up properly in the virtual machine, but I'm only getting an awful jittery output sound. Is there any way to resolve this? Or is it just highly unadvisable to use the mbox in any virtual environment?

Using the Mbox 2 with a virtual machine falls into a big grey area. There's no guarantee of performance and it will never be supported by Avid. Unfortunately based on your experience, it looks like it just won't work.

Just about guaranteed not to work OK in any VM. See past threads on DUC warning about this and some explaining why.

No, VM doesn't work well with real time things such as audio
