Profile dsp / mix engines
so yesterday we fired up the profile loaded our show. we have used this same rig many time in he past year or so. At one point during soundcheck we noticed
the monitor/screen was showing some serious latency, eventually we could barley get the mouse to stay visible. Upon looking at the settings, we noticed that 2 out of the 4 mix engines were at 99% while 1was at 50% and the other was 0%. So I hoping someone on here has a solution cause it took about 45 sec for the monitor to react to a move. thanks in advance |

Re: Profile dsp / mix engines
DSP cards load plugins and mix engine onto themselves, what we see on the monitor is handled by windows, so at first it seems like windows side of things got clogged up for some reason. Was there anything different hooked up to the desk? A phone maybe? Anything else? If I were you I would try to figure this out with Venue Support:
The VENUE Support Hotline is available during normal business hours (Monday - Thursday 8am-5pm PST, Friday 8am-4pm PST) for any technical issues related to the VENUE product line. After-hours this line is reserved for emergency support calls only. Re: Profile dsp / mix engines
Hi,
It's unlikely that the DSP load affects the screen response, as the DSP and host computer are completely independent in function. Is ECX (remote VNC control) being used? If so, be sere you're using the latest v3.0. Version 2.0 did have an issue that could cause slow redraws. http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...ption-Software Sheldon |

Re: Profile dsp / mix engines
While booting the console, did you get any error messages? Of particular interest would be one about not finding the \user partition and substituting the \system partition instead. This is the message we got when the hard drive was failing in our SC48.
Call the Venue support number and one of the techs will walk you through diagnostics. |
