Default Any chance for this rig . . .

to run PTLE? It (Laptop)was custom built so I haven't been able to get a concrete answer in terms of compatibility from General Troubleshooting.

Processor : Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo T9300 @ 2500 MHz
Physical Memory : 4096 MB (2 x 2048 DDR2-SDRAM )
Video Card : NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT
Hard Disk : FUJITSU (160 GB)
DVD-Rom Drive : Optiarc DVD RW AD-7530B ATA Device
Monitor Type : CPT - 15 inches
Network Card : Broadcom Corp NetLink BCM5787M Gigabit Ethernet
Network Card : Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG
Operating System : Windows (TM) Vista Ultimate Service Pack 1
DirectX : Version 10.00

Well, PT supports at least one form of the 965 chipset. The Intel DP965LT Core2Duo. I would say it should support it, but I would keep asking around.

Protools need to have a physically separate hard drive for the audio files. (not just a separate partition). It must be a completely separate hard drive running 7200RPM or faster. For notebooks, this usually means an external firewire drive with the Oxford 911 chipset. Your firewire interface must have the compatible Texas Instrument chipset also.

Ahh, it does have firewire (ricoh ohci compliant ieee 1394 host controller) but obv. not Texas Instruments. Is TI in fact, the only type that will work?

Some onboard controllers work and some dont. I would try the onboard FW but be prepared to buy a approved FW card if it doesnt work.
