Are Plugins There Yet?
Are plugins at a state now where they can be as good sounding as outboard gear? Whats your opinion?
Can the Reverb One compare to a PCM 91? If you want a rich lush chorus effect, can you get that in a plugin like Waves or TC or would you have to reach for a hardware piece? If you wanted to squash a snare drum so that it pops in your face, do you use a plugin, or would hardware simply give a better result in your opinion? Is there anything that you can do with hardware that you feel at this time can absolutely NOT be duplicated in software plugin? What is it? Maybe if the plugin makers know this, they'll get to work. |

Re: Are Plugins There Yet?
I only use plugs for minor eq tweaks, filtering.
I use outboard gear for everything. I like to get the right sound before hitting the box. so that my trax are set to mix rather easily. It's also saves me the hassel of coming back to a session from 3 years ago with out dealing with outdated/extinct plugs. and if I send tracks out, the mix engineer isn't going to have a hassel either. |
