Default Track height for surround tracks

I'm pretty sure the answer to this is No, but ...
Is there a way to have different levels of track height for multi channel tracks?

For example ...
I sometimes get source material supplied as 5.1 stems.
My goto level of track height for editinig is Medium.
On Dx clips, I'm mostly interested in the Centre channel, but there might be something on L/R or Ls/Rs. (Obviously, for Fx, I'm more interested in L/R than C.)

Currently, if I have 3 Dx tracks where I need to see the C channel at Medium track height, I have to have 18 tracks displayed at Medium track height.

What I'm looking for is a way to have C displayed as Medium and L/R/Ls/Rs/Lfe displayed as Mini or Micro.

(I know there are work arounds, like splitting the 5.1 clip into 6 descrete clips, but that's really not ideal.)

No there isn't a way. iZotope Rx is teasing this capability but who knows when we'll see it.

Thought not.

Interesting that a 3rd party plugin would (potentially) offer that sort of functinoality.

That is a really interesting feature request!

That I'm sure we'll never see

I'd use it for sure.

I feel the same pain. When doing a cut down of a film on 5.1 stems there is a lot of valuable screen realestate in the edit window with no audio information.

I’ve had an idea that maybe one could have an option to visually collapse multichannel files to a mono view.

But your idea would also be great.

With Tracks and Playlists when you change the height of the Track, the Playlists also change height to match. However, using the Windows key (sorry, don't know the Mac key) the height of an individual Track can be changed without affecting the height of the others. Would this work for multi-channel Tracks? I don't have any multi-channel Tracks to test myself.
