I am having same problem as above, regarding buffering, disk cache, error. I have tried deleting prefs. maybe, I am not deleting the correct files. Anyone know the correct way to do this? If I need to lower buffer rate or engine count, how do I do this? I have a new laptop here with windows 8, so navigating this new computer is tedious. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I deleted 10.3.2 and downloaded/installed 10.3.1, PT will still not launch. I deleted all the prefs I could find. Anybody have specific directions on what files need to be deleted? and, also any other suggestions will be appreciated.

Default Re: Help - error message after installing 10.3.2

I moved from win8 consumer review to the newly released win 8 pro and installed PT 10.3.2 and got the same memory allocation error. By reinstalling the 003 drivers that problem went away and instead it hangs with this message:

"This software requires installation of device driver TPkd and a reboot before running. Please reboot or reinstall the software."

When you say ok another windows pops up saying cant find the hardware.

When I reinstall the ilok drivers its back to the disk cache error.

I tried to reinstall 10.3.1 instead with the same result. It seems ridiculous that all this expensive software and my time are held hostage by the lock and key system used to protect their profits. These TPkd drivers are renowned on other computer forums for wreaking havoc with other software and is treated as malware by many.

Pro Tools has not been approved for Windows 8. I would also replace the one odd RAM stick with another matching stick

Have the same problem on a previously working W7 set up! Tried deleting prefs, rebooting, nothing works!

I'm now having the same issue! I installed PT 10.3.1 on my laptop and its been working great for a week and a half now. Go to upgrade my main studio computer and BOOM. Nothing but issues!

Angry Re: Help - error message after installing 10.3.2

OK,

I was able to get 10.3.2 working by using the PT 10.3.2 uninstall utility and removing EVERYTHING with that tool. Prefs, drivers, everything. There were a couple of error messages that popped up while it was doing it thing and finally my machine restarted.

Fired back up the installer, but I ran the installer as an administrator this time.

After restarting PT fired right up. I'm going to have to re-install all of my PT plugins and virtual instruments. All of my Waves and BlueCat Plug-Ins stayed on-board with no issues.
