Default How to change the 'plug-in category' as it shows up on inserts.

http://i36.tinypic.com/347jkba.jpg

When you pull up an insert, it lists the plugins in categories. I was just wondering if there was a way to change which category the plugin shows up in. Basically, I have too many plugins in the 'Other' category and it's annoying.

I know you can organize by manufacturer as well, but I would still like to clean up the 'Other' category. Any tips?

Unfortunately not - it's up to the plug-in manufacturer to embed the plug-in type in their plug-in.

may be you know this trick. not mine it's from the genius Kenny Gioia.
He said it's not a really great trick, but me, I have a lot of plugs too and I love this trick
so :
there is a great way to put your favorite plugs at the top of your category or manufactory
folder. you can assign more then one plug in this list and you can assign TDM and RTAS separately and even different multi mono and stereo. For each category. Independent from the Preference option.
So simple it works : go to your mix window, press the cmd key and assign your plug in, then above your category or/and manufacture list you find your new favorite.
Hope you understood everything, my english is a bit strange.

Thank's Kenny for all your tips !! You're great !!

I knew I had seen the video too but couldn't find. Found your post. Everything works perfectly! Thanks!
