Any other audio recording software that runs with Mbox mini?

I do VO, just need a few tracks, mp3, aiff and wav output and very little as far as fx, etc. Have the Mbox mini and ProTools LE running on Windows Vista and I don't need all of ProTools gizmos. Especially since most of what I do is Mp3, it's a real pain to have to bounce everything.

Can I pare down ProTools with a custom install?

I've tried installing some freeware that works well with Vista, but it won't recognize the M-box. Any suggestions for something simple that works with the Mbox AND Vista?

A) Why do you have to bounce? If it's one track with no automation or plug-ins, just consolidate to one region, name it and export it in the file format you want. (I do V/O and prefer Pro Tools. I haven't found a better audio editor.)

B) Any audio software that is ASIO compliant will work with the MBox Mini provided you have installed the ASIO driver that came with Pro Tools LE. Try Reaper. Many here find it quite good and it's free to try with an unlimited and unencumbered evaluation period and quite reasonable if you want to "buy".
