Default windows xp media center edition sp2/ MBox2 mini

Can the media center edition running on OS Microsoft Windows XP Professional work with the MBox2 mini if a external drive is added and RAM is upgraded.

Yes, although Media Center 2005 itself is unsupported. The external drive is a must and all of the compatibility rules about Chipsets, CPU's etc need to be adhered to.

I'm on my third MCE computer and have had no problems running Pro Tools.

As always with unsupported hardware or software your milage may vary.

There isn't a single piece of hardware or software I can think of that is supported under Media Center. Now, some have gotten things to work---but that's like trying to drive up a hill covered in ice just because you'd rather do it. In other words, go with what is officially supported and many thousand upon thousands are using just fine, myself included.

I'm going with the assumption that if your asking about MCE thata its already installed on the computer. If that's not the case than I would definately install a Digi approved OS. XP Home, XP Pro, Vista Buisness and Vista Ultimate are all Digi approved.
