hi, i can speak for our D-Command. After aprox. 2 years of constant use, faders started to fight. Some more than others. I really tried every possible solution, including the most extravagant ones.. (search for other Fighting Faders threads) and finally Digi suggested to clean the faders, according to their instructions. Once clean of dust, cloth fibers, dead skin cells etc.. the faders behaved normally again.
Cheers

I had lots of fighting faders (D-Command) in my old studio. When I moved to my new building (different power circuit) the problem disappeared!

As i was told at the 2007 IBC this issue..... was about to be fixed with the 7.4 release.
Is anybody with a DCommand or DControl using 7.4,can confirm that this...problem has been resolved?

Currently using PT 7.4 with D-Control. I don't have the frequency of occurrence that others here seem to have, although rarely I'll get fader "jitter" as the faders seem to lose contact. Again, this is rarely enough so that it isn't an issue for me. I have not noticed a difference in operation regarding this problem between 7.4 and earlier versions of PT.

I use a D Command and an SSL Duality daily and the the SSL faders are FAR WORSE. They are basically the same as the Yamaha DM2000. The touch sensitivity doesn't register and when in Snap they often don't "snap" back. What's more is, in order to get them back to life, they require and special sort of "flick" from the side to shock them back. Very annoying. D Command works perfectly 99% of the time.

Given what I've seen here, there must be some design flaw in these faders that causes them to be especially susceptible to environmental/electrical conditions. Some people have little to no problems and others lots.

hi all,
last year I worked in a all icon facility. 4 d-commands and 1 d-control. All boards had this issue. Sucks too. Everything else works with touch but the faders!!!
Best Brandon
