C24 Monitor/Pan problem
Working with the C24, I have not been able to get sound to the right monitor. I currently have the c24 in stereo mode L(1), R(3). In the Pan section the L(C)R is on but nothing shows in the display (and never has). I'm not even sure if there should be a display! I have performed all display, switch and rotary tests with no problems. It seems that the switches above the display are not communicating and not allowing the Pan section to work. Does anyone have any suggestions. Hopefully, its something simple like an incorrect setting.

Re: C24 Monitor/Pan problem
I think the d subs on c24 make the outputs LCR. 1-2-3. Maybe the R is plugging into 2. ? Swap L and R connectors. If R works now it's the cable. I know some music people have had to make a little adapter to properly monitor LR on C24 without the center channel. But I don't have a c24 so I have no idea.... I would check the analog cables first.

Re: C24 Monitor/Pan problem
Or the routing in the output grid. Arche3 is correct that C24 wants to use 1&3 as L&R.

I visited your site.....studio looks great!! I am still having the monitor/panning problem (to the right). Do you or have you owned a C24? My concern is I don't have any information in the display section nor activation of the encoders for panning. I am beginning to suspect an internal problem that will require sending the unit to Avid. Thanks, Rod Proctor |

Re: C24 Monitor/Pan problem
switch 1 to 3 and 3 to 1 and tell us what happens. If the right output is still dead then you have internal issues with the C/24

Re: C24 Monitor/Pan problem
I took the C24 to Atlanta (one of Avid's repair shops) and found that the Monitor circuit board was toast. Labor and the new board cost $430 and my time and expenses to take the unit to Atlanta. Hope I don't have any more problems with the unit! I appreciate all the responses....have a great day...Rod
