Setting up 11R with previous software??

Hey guys,


This should be a very striaght forward reply.

I bought an Eleven Rack (has a minor clocking issue and needs to be sent off to be fixed...anyway that is another issue)

I just want to know if I should uninstall my previous version of LE8 software version 8 (when I purchased the 003 Rack), and then install the version that came with the Eleven Rack (8.0.1)?

I realise there is un updated driver (8.0.3)...i believe?

...and also realsie there is a firmware update for the 11R(1.0.3)...

Just wanna make sure I'm approaching this the correct way....what do i need to install and in what order would be helpful to know!!

Any help from you fantastic people would be much appreciated : )

What OS are you on? OSX or Windows XP, Vista, or 7?

You should be fine by just updating your 8.0 to 8.0.4cs2

or buy PT9

Correct. The GUI and settings for the Eleven Rack is now built in to every current version of Protools, whether you own the rack or not, as long as you have the latest updates.

Yeah i'm on OSX. Ok, so i'll update the drivers to 8.0.4cs2 (i'll have a look in the stickys for a link), and then hopefully the 11R will be noticed...just spent a shedload of cash on some gear so PT9 is going to have to wait a little longer : )
