Default New 8-channel micpre from Focusrite

Not quite sure where to post this as it ain´t no audio interface actually...
Anyway a short heads up.

Focusrite have released a new 8-channel micpre unit with 8 micpres/Line Ins, insert In on each channel, 8 ADAT Ins and Outs, Wordclock and 8 analog Outputs.
Separate AIR buttons on each single Input/mic pre channel and an ADAT-to-Line function which bypasses the micpres for an uncolored put through of the signals
from the 8 ADAT Inputs to the 8 analog Line Outputs.

This all makes this thing quite versatile and interesting for several applications and even if it´s got the latest high class Focusrite A/D D/A converters (Clarett series),
it´s still under 1k. Nice stuff imo.

Great Input/mic pre expansion unit (may replace and upgrade the Octopre Mk2 in the future), A/D D/A converter and Output expansion (in conjunction with any audio
interface which got 8 ADAT Outs) etc.

Worth checking it out.

Yes I'm glad they did this. Very useful for people with one of the Clarrett 8 units to be able to now have 16 channels of the exact same pre's and conversion, especially for recording drums, etc.

Looks pretty cool, but for another $100, the Midas XL48 is worth a look. As an owner of the OctoPre MKII Dynamic, and the Midas, the Octo is decidedly blah(I expect the Clarett to be much better) and the Midas is REALLY good on drums(once I tracked my kit on it, that never changes)
