Default no audio files being created

a while back when i was running mbox on my powerbook i changed something to cut down on how much stuff was being stored on my computer so that it would run efficiently. now i'm running 002 on a G5 tower and i'm trying to get my files off of the powerbook, but whatever it is i changed a while back caused my sessions to not create audio files; it only creates file backups. i can't find whatever it was that i did and the sessions won't transfer without original audio files. where do i go to make sure when i record it creates audio files and backups? thanks

peace
