Since I upgraded to Windows 10 Pro/PT 2020.3 I decided to retire my MBox 3, which is quickly approaching EOL. There were also some things about it I never liked, so it's been on my mind for a while.
I researched what was around in terms of what my needs and budget were and settled on the PreSonus 26C. I use a PreSonus preamp and headphone amp, which I really like, so my assumption was that they'd play nice together. Here's my question: How much does the interface affect the sound? I swear that I'm hearing greater clarity and detail with the PreSonus than I did with the MBox. Is this possible? Or am I imagining it since it's new and shiny? ![]()

Different interfaces and pre-amps have their own character and it sounds like you notice the difference with your new interface.
The 26C uses the Presonus XMAX pre-amps, which are quite good, don't add much color and have a very natural sound. I'm glad you are enjoying your new interface. I also use Presonus interfaces and have been really happy with them. |

Thanks, junkgear.
I'm just noticing that things sound brighter and more clear.
