Default Win7 64 bit and HFS drives

My sojourn into 64 bit land has been interesting(and mostly fun), but I had an issue yesterday with a Mac formatted drive(HFS+). When I installed PT, I checked the box for compatibility (same as on my previous XP setup). With the XP drive installed, I can actually run a session from an HFS drive(with some issues, but I could actually get work done) and could drag files on and off the drive at will. On Win7 64 bit, I tried to import audio files from the HFS drive into a session that resided on my audio drive and that didn't work so well. I found it faster to drag the files onto my desktop and import from there. When it came time to export the new audio(we tracked drums, bass and keys) I tried to export regions as files and go directly to the HFS drive and the entire system locked up(had to hit the reset button). So I exported each song's audio to a folder on the desktop and closed PT. Then sent the folders from the desktop to the HFS drive, which worked, but took a really ling time. I thought I would check some random files by dragging from the HFS drive into Wavelab or WMP and neither would play as they both would simply freeze(program not responding). Anyone else on Win7 64bit run into this?

BTW, the drive in question is one of those Lacie bricks with the orange rubber surround, using a FW800>FW400 cable(drive only had FW800 port).

Not yet, but I do everything right on my HFS drives, I don't transfer from drive to drive.

I'll do some testing if/when I get a chance.

I really wanted to use my full license of MacDrive for this, as it has always worked better and been a newer version than the one included with PT, but my license won't transfer; I ned to purchase another license. Ugh.

Yeah, I would pony up the cash for MacDrive 8 if I was sure it would solve the issues.
