Default Backward compatibility of HD

heya all. i just got back from the HD demo, and surprise, surprise.... the Digi rep informed us that all sessions done on older systems, ie mix, mix+, WILL NOT open in HD.
I guess not being able to load the plugs you previously had is an issue, but according to the rep, HD will not allow you to open the session at all. I would've assumed that at the very least, the digi rack plugs, edit, routings and automation would've been avaliable.
Is this true? will HD not deal with older sessions? This would be a major problem.. i work in a post house and more often then not, i haveta go back to jobs that are atleast 6 months old.

Any HD guys here care to shed light on this one?

Thanxs.

Wow, what city are you in?
All my old sessions open fine (other than the plug-ins that I don't have yet, like Bomb Factory and Filterbank). Other than that my sessions open fine. Reverb One, Virus, Focusrite and all digi rack open fine. I've even had people bring sessions from 001's that open fine.

Your "rep" was mis-informed.

Do your plug-ins settings carry over from Mix to HD systems (providing you have the plug-in upgraded).

How about the other way around.

Have any of you recorded a session in HD and have your client take it back to thier Mix and LE systems and opened it without any problems?

This is assuming they are all playing back at sampling frequecies at or lower than 48K of course.

What about systems older than Mix, like Pro Tools III? Will they open in HD provided I have the updated plugins?
