well i am not gonna try and teach business economics lol... but i will tell you what my grandfather taught me.

if you have a product that is worth a dollar... sell it for ten cents. you may think you won't be getting the full worth of the item but you will sell far more of them and the value will be so good for the amount paid you will get extra word of mouth sells to their friends and all the repeat business you can handle.

Again, price is fine. If its too high, get a new client or pick up an overtime shift at your day job (or stop eating out all the damn time!!) Easy.

Unfortunately, in 2016, I need another compressor plugin like I need another toe. Might be cool, but assuredly unnecessary.

I speak as a current Fatso owner and previous Distressor owner (and no, I couldn't care less if this plugin sounds like a hardware Distressor.)

I agree with the previous poster, I don't need another toe....as a DSP plug that might change things.....HDX card is at the top of my Want list.

Who hasn't spent years developing their products? You can buy an entire DAW for $225, and the people at Reaper throw in a massive amount of free updates and features. So does Slate Digital. I think I only paid $200 for VMR & VBC combined and they have never charged me for an update. They kindly released mono VBC not that long ago.

I can totally see why some people think it is expensive. In the current market it really actual is. If it appeared 5 or 10 years ago, the $350 price tag would seem much more relevant I think. Partly because good quality cheaper plugins hadn't quite appeared yet, and partly because people like me wouldn't have impulse purchased those cheaper plugins over the course of years to the point of almost drowning in them.

Another compressor plugin like a hole in the head indeed... And another $350 one at that? Shoot me now.

Looks like the offer has been extended to 19th October yet still doesn’t appear to be getting much attention here on DUC.

Maybe the negativity around a relatively high full price and marketing focus on a period of free updates that might be interpreted as paid updates not being too far off put off potential customers ... either way, a much better deal at this price :)
