Default Highly annoying 002 pops

So I am getting a batch of highly irritating (and loud) clicks/pops/thumps whenever I preview audio in an Audiosuite plug-in while running a 48k session. It happens both when I start and stop the preview. No problems with 44.1 sessions. Doesn't seem to matter what plug it is and the clock is set to internal.

Actually now that I think about it it also happens when I open a 48k session.

Anyone else seen this behavior? This is a fairly new system all around (DP 1.8 G5 & 002R). I did a fresh install of CoreAudio recently. Might it be the culprit?

Thanks for any advice.

clicks and pops are usually a clocking thing. Do you have any other devices connected digitally?

Yes I do, but this happens whether they are on or not, and the noises come from the 002 main outputs.

It's almost like just uing the preview in Audiosuite is causing the clock to toggle back and forth.

Maybe I should try uninstalling Core Audio?

Thanks

Are there several regions being patched together that you are previewing? I don't think fades are being taken into account when previewing and it could be transition artifacts at the beginning/end of the regions. Just a thought.

No that doesn't factor into it. It makes the pops when I start or stop the preview.

you said it happens when you open 48k sessions, then the clock is still set for 44.1 sessions. Make sure the external devices and the PT clock are the same in the 48k sessions.
