McDSP 4040 limiter HD v5?

Anyone have a V5 they are thinking of upgrading to V6?
I need a V5 for my old TDM system but McDSP will only sell me a V6 which isn't compatible! Seems their new policy is to try and force older customers to rent their V5 Everything bundle instead. Very unhappy about this service.
I could trade you and save you the upgrade fees?

If you do the V6 upgrade, they'll give you a NFS asset for V5, if you need it. But it's only good for a year, so you'll have to go back & ask for an extension when needed.

Sadly that is exactly what they promised me in an email last year but are now going back on their word saying their policy has changed. Support at McDSP told me my only option is to pay to rent their v5 everything bundle at $280 a year!! I only need one plugin..I already own everything they do (hd versions at that) It's a really really poor outcome which has left me gobsmacked to be honest. They were so rude about it too. A complete turn around in their attitude. Sad. It's not like NFR's cost them anything. It's really left me in the lurch for some important projects. I have the Native version already too but it has too much latency on the Master buss.
Eventide customer service was completely the opposite in a similar situation and we're fantastically helpful and generous.
