Waves Vocal Rider not writing automation...

OK... so I finally pulled this chestnut out to have a play tonight and for the life of me I cannot get it to write automation.

I instantiate the plug on a vox track.
I enable automation for Fader Rider.
I have tried setting the vox track to Latch, Touch, Latch/Touch and Write.. all to no avail.
I have left the GUI open whilst trying to write.
I have opened up Volume, Trim/Volume and Fader Rider lanes, nothing gets written.

(mix and match and combination of the above)

Any suggestions?

I'm using Waves v7r16, PT9.0, OSX 10.6.5.

Everything seems to work normally, it just won't write automation.. Every search I've done turns up the GUI and automation enable fixes.. but these haven't worked for me.. I am just curious if I'm the only one that's stuck..

Well... after mucking around for a bit, it seems that there are a few plugs that won't write to automation... Some will and some won't (various companies). A PT9 issue?

Seems odd. and just what I get for going on about how well PT is working for me..

I listed that in step two in my first post..

even with the automation enabled for fader rider it will not write.

I would search youtube and Waves for a tutorial video as what you describe can be done(I don't own that plugin so I have no idea how, but I remember seeing it done in a video).

There's one by Shahad on the Waves site.. it tells you everything except to enable the fader rider automation, which I guess is why a bunch of folks got stuck with it..

Been there, done that.. And since last night I've tried just about every permutation I can think of including enabling automation on everything..

It's plain just not working.

V8 will be out within a few weeks.. I can survive () until then I'm sure.. Maybe it will disappear with the new iteration.

OK.. Humble pie time here....

Denka, you are absolutely correct. My mistake was in thinking that once the automation was enabled on the automation window in the plugin it was enabled.. it isn't. Even though a red line appears around the fader it isn't enabled until using CMND/4 and selecting it there. Then it works like a champ!

I can't get this to work either, yet I've enabled Write in the plugin as well as write on the track. We just got Vocal Rider here this past weekend, and it's PTHD9 and V8 waves we're working with.

Any known issues that would cause this not to work?
