Pro tools 8 hangs on digidesign installing hardware
I've tried everything this is making me pull out my hair it worked before on windows 7 but ever since I've upgraded and change hardware it will not install. I've also tried the trouble shoot where you close a specific process but the thing is it doesn't install the drivers but install pro tools 8.
It just sits at DIGIDESIGN INSTALLING HARDWARE AND DOESN'T MOVE. I can't even cancel it I have to force the process to end under task manager I've search almost every thread about this and still don't have no luck. I'm using MBOX 1 with pro tools 8. Re: Pro tools 8 hangs on digidesign installing hardware
This one could be tough since Windows 7 and PT8 are technically not compatible(and the old Mbox can't use PT newer than 8.0.1). A few things to look at; are you recording to the SSD(SSD drives are not great for recording). Try disabling all network stuff, and the firewire(since VIA is often also not compatible). Since USB drivers get installed for the specific port, you should try to always use the same USB port. In the interest of troubleshooting, you might try disconnecting anything that is not needed for Pro Tools(to eliminate as much as you can). Also, did you run the installer as Admin(and always run the program that way)?
