Default Changing Audio Tempos

Okay, here are the facts:

I am using a Pro Tools M-Powered with a Mobile Pre USB interface, Windows XP. I am currently trying to change the tempo of my recorded audio. For example, I recorded a piano melody onto pro tools which as too slow, and I want to change my melody so that the melody plays faster. How would I do this in Pro tools m-powered? PLEASE HELP!

Instructions for how to use it start on page 255 of the Reference Guide.

The Reference Guide is available from the help menu within the program.

Are you sure that this tool will enable me to change the tempo of my melody? I mean, from reading it, it just compresses my audio to fit in the grid not actually changing the tempo. Well, more explanation will be much appreciated.

change the tempo of the project, and then use the TCE tool to stretch it to the grid at your desired tempo

I've done all of teh above but the tempo of my drum/melody is still not changing. Time stretch has compressed & stretch my audio, buh I do not hear any difference in tempo in my audio. Please anyoen out there know of a different way that I may be able to change the tempo of my Audio. I am not just talkin about matching it with the click, I mean dramatically changing the tempo.

That is the way it's done. If you are not hearing the tempo change when you use the TCE tool on your audio, then you are doing something wrong.

Okay, What I did was when I went into PT, I selected the session tempo, and changed it from 70 BPS to 80 BPS. Then after this, I selected my wave clip and it then became highlighted. While the clip is bring highlighted, I went to open my TC/E tool. There I also changed the tempo in the tempo option (from 70 to 80 BPS). After this I processed the changed. Then I go and play it back, and hear no change in tempo? What happened?

Did you even read this? How about if I copy the instructions for you here? Would that make it easier for you? (coming out to the internet and reading the same thing you can read on your computer is always easier...)
Quote:
The Time Compression/Expansion Trim tool
can be used in Grid mode to match a region to
the tempo of a session or a section of a session.
For example, you might import a one-bar drum
loop with a tempo of 90 BPM into a session with
a tempo of 120 BPM. In Grid mode, you can use
this tool to simply and quickly “time compress”
the drum loop to the length of one measure,
with minimal loss of audio fidelity.
To use the Time Compression/Expansion Trim tool
in Grid mode:
1 Set the Edit mode to Grid.
2 Click the Trim tool pop-up menu and select
“TCE.”
3 With the Time Compression/Expansion tool,
drag the audio region’s start or end point to
compress or expand the region to the Grid (for
example, by quarter notes). The audio region is
automatically processed using the Time Compression/
Expansion AudioSuite plug-in. The
new audio region appears in the playlist and in
the Region List.
Though, reading it in the Reference Guide is usually better; it even has pictures...
