MacBook Pro speakers coloring my audio
I just recently upgraded from a 2014 MacBook Pro 15inch to a 2019 MBP15inch. But I have noticed that when I listen to voice tracks in ProTools that they sound very muffled and bassy. I listened to other applications (iTunes, etc.) and the same issue occurs. so this is a system wide issue and it is coloring my editing/mixing decisions immensely!
I read online that from roughly 2016-2019 Apple has changed their speakers to have more bass in them. This is fine for basic music listening but is horrendous for sound design work. Has anyone else experienced this before and are there and work arounds??? I have to be mobile a lot and therefore cannot be carrying around a pair of monitors in order to correctly hear the tracks. This was very disappointing for me as I was trying to upgrade my equipment in order to better handle my work but now it seems like the "older" is better..... Thank you.

Re: MacBook Pro speakers coloring my audio
Get the new 16". It has better speakers AND provides you with a studio quality mic. And you could always duct tape the speakers shut to lower the quality if those new ones don't work for you out of the box.

You shouldn’t be monitoring off those laptop speakers, but yeah. They blow chunks.

Re: MacBook Pro speakers coloring my audio
Of course but OP is traveling so that is the reason why no real monitors. But in that case you should have headphones you can trust.
