Default Connecting songs together

I recorded a band live recently (with a click track) and they did several takes of the same songs songs. now they want to piece them together. What is the best way to go about doing that? The songs are all on different sessions.

I don't understand what you mean by 'piece them together'? Do you mean like a medley? Or are you comping each song separately into a better performance? Either way, you can start by importing all the data you need into one session. Depending on what you want to do, you can either import the audio, or import session data.

Basically some takes were stronger at the beginning and lost it at the end and some were stronger at the end. I want to basically splice them together.

"Import Audio" for the takes of song "A" into one LARGE session, then comp the best parts together; and CHARGE them!

Enjoy!

Next time it would be better to use new playlists so all takes of the same song is in the same session. Much easier.....

well, in the old days .. they would mix each take then cut them together with a razor blade ..

1) you could do that with the Digital Razor Blade !!

2) or you could just mix the sections that you wish to keep .. then bring them into One MAster Session for that song and bring them together there ..

how many tracks are we talking about ?? maybe there is another way - if low track count ..

3) you could also, mix stems and then use them in the New Master Session .. bringing each stem into a playlist and Comp the sections together ..

if you do your pre-production and know which sections you want to cut together using #1 above .. that would be the quickest way .. you know, make some decisions !!

you have some options ...

and next time, i agree you playlists from the get go !!

Use Clip Groups.

This is an easy way to move mass amounts of clips while preserving all edits.
