Default DIGIDESIGN 888/24 Meters

Hello.

After upgrading to PT 5.1.1 (on PowerMac 9600/300 running OS 9.1) i experienced that the meters on my 888/24 interfaces do not show their input level but in PT the signal is arriving when a corresponding track is record enabled. Does anyone have a clue what is wrong?

Thanks.

those are output meters and not input meters.

you mean to tell me that you can set these up as input meters? I dont think so.

Input metering was changed in Pro Tools at version 5.3 -- in 5.1.1 a record armed track would always meter input.. in 5.3 it was 'fixed' to act like a regular tape recorder.. metering only switches to INPUT when the track is in INPUT.

Metering on the 888 will only meter the outputs... and if memory serves, it's always been that way.

I didnt mean to sound like a smart ass. it was supposed to read as "I didn't think so" cause i would LOVE to have input meters on the interface itself.

Rail is always right so that sucks, i was hoping I could switch em.

Hi Rail.

Thanks for your words. I guess my imagination somehow tricked me on that. i recorded some 'funkadelic jazzhop' (the band called it that way) and all worked really fine so i guess everythings alright witht the interfaces.

Until then.
