Hey!

Just wondering if the 002R units that are currently being sold are still having problems with the power harness?

That was fixed 3 or 4 years ago.

Well if the 002 was introduced in 2002, that be approximately 2002-2003 since not really counting the 2007 new year.

I beg to differ that complaints have arisen since 2005-2006. So it's more like it was supposedly fix in the last 2 years. I forgot the revision letter, but it must be recent.

Even though I seem to hear from people in the DUC who bought even the latest version and STILL experience the harness problem. Personally I think it was always a defect. But I never experienced a problem with my OO2R bought last Jan 2005.

Then again I rarely use it since I bought my Mbox 2.

Just out of curiosity, why is that?

Well I do love the OO2R but I can't use it while lying in bed or recording in a mobile location because it is hardwired to my midi studio, asr-10, roland samplers, drum machines, effects, exernal mackie mixer. I needed midi inputs thats why.

So I bought an Mbox 2 which had the midi inputs I always needed. But the funny thing is, I moved away from the real world synths and towards virtual synths which kept me around my laptop more often.

I thought I was heading towards the future when I finally entered DAW world last 2005. But then I stayed in the virtual world after reading an article that reinforced the " in - the - box" mixing the intrigued me so much. When I read that the producer literally used a Mbox and a laptop to record a Rolling Stones album. And how he describes that the Rolling Stones could record in any million dollar studio but everything they needed that helped them can be done on a laptop and a mbox.

You don't by chance have a link to that article do you? I would be very interested in reading it.

I bought mine late in 2003 and it had the bad power supply issue, digi knew about it and fixed it in 1 day/overnighted it on their dime, then they anounced a couple of months later that it was a design flaw and 002s that were shipped since then have the new power supply harnest.
It is possible some people bought 002s that were old stock from the early ones.
